Shadyside Allstars: News

June 5th at The Rathskeller - June 3, 2010

Howdy Doody!

The week is just about over and I'm sure you're looking for an engagement to kich off your shoes and let down your hair. We've got just the environment and vibe for you to do so. This Saturday, June 5th, Shadyside will be funkin' it up at the Rathskeller in downtown Indianapolis.

The 19th century Athenaeum building is one of the most unique venues in Indy's downtown scenery. The Kellerbar has a great line up of import and domestic beers and wines. It's sure to please the most discriminating tastes. Please note this show is being held in the Biergarten which it is NOT an all ages area (21+). Shadyside takes to the stage at 7pm, followed by The Elect shortly after 8pm. Should there be questionable Indiana weather, the show will move inside and begin at 8pm rather than 7pm.

Show up early and get yourself a refreshing drink and some great food. We look forward to seeing you there. Enjoy the last day of the week!

New Interview - Indy In-Tune Podcast - October 12, 2009

We're a bit saddened by the drastic change in weather, but this time of year always gives us the chance to regroup and start writing new material. We're currently working on four new tracks, one of which is complete. It appears studio time will be coming in the New Year along with much more traveling and performing.

In the meantime, we'd like to direct your attention to an interview from this year's Kammy's Kause (www.kammyskause.org) with
Darrin Snider of Indy In-Tune (www.indyintune.com).
Every year we sit down with Big D and wax the subject of what Shadyside is currently up to or what future plans we've got in the mix. Inevitably, the interview becomes something more than standard fare. This year is without exception. In fact, it may be one of our best to date. We must inform you, however, to use discretion when listening to this episode as it contains adult content that may not be suitable for anyone faint of heart.

Don’t forget about our upcoming show schedule. For those of you north of Indy, we’ll be traveling to Chicago to perform at the Goose Island Pub on Saturday, November 14th. We’d love to get everyone together and take a road trip. For those of you interested in traveling, please email roadtrip@shadysideallstars.com and we’ll get you in contact with others heading to Chicago.

Hope to hear from some of you soon. Keep in touch and enjoy the weekend.

Kammy's Kause - August 26, 2009

Once again, Shadyside is proud to be performing at the 2009 Kammy's Kause benefit Friday, August 28th at 7pm.

Kammy's Kause is the charitable music benefit for the purpose of raising money for research of the chromosome abnormality called 4p-/Wolf Hirschhorn. There are about 600+/- known cases in the world, so very little is known about this syndrome. The hope is to raise awareness about this syndrome, help with research, and assist families of children with 4p-. The money that has been raised the last 5 years has helped over 15 families attend the National Conferences for 4p-. There they received encouragement from other families of 4p- children and medical information from 4p- specialists who attend these conferences.

This free festival begins Friday evening and ends at midnight on Saturday. Donations are gladly accepted. Please visit Kammy's Kause for more information. We look forward to seeing you there!

Little Turtle Music & Arts Festival - August 6, 2009

Ladies and Germs!

We're proud to announce our inclusion in the inaugural Three heads Co. & A Greener Indiana event, Little Turtle Music & Arts Festival! Here's a little low down on the event:

"The 1st Annual Little Turtle Music & Arts Festival is a gathering of up to 5,000 to 10,000 of our closest friends and lovers of music and the arts, rallying support to create a more environmentally conscious community, state and country.

We plan to carry this out by featuring a wide range of professional musical entertainment and local artists. Along with the entertainment we plan to provide a platform for education, demonstrations, and presentations on an array of pressing environmental issues from alternative power and fuel sources, to watershed management, green legislation, the importance of reducing waste, and our ecological footprint.

Our hopes are to see a weekend long effort to reduce landfill waste (through zero waste concepts like recycling and composting) while giving green organizations and local merchants a chance to reap the benefits of such a large gathering.

Join us for a weekend of camping, eating, learning, relaxing and listening to GREAT MUSIC!"

We're looking forward to participating this year. We'd love for you to attend as well. Please visit the Little Turtle Music & Arts Festival for ordering tickets.

Back home and ready to roll again - June 12, 2009

After yesterday's fiasco of getting out trailer picked up, loaded and fianlly out of town, we drove straight ti Cincy on a mission of sorts. Squirt Jones was at the helm and Blair, Will, Aaron and Chris were left to annoy him the entire way. Whether it be flatulence or dim-witted chicanery, Squirt has to put up with it all.

We arrived safe and sound at Stanley's Pub, meeting our cohorts for the evening, The Bones Dupree Band. They're an energetic four-piece rom the Cincy area and know how to play some damn fine music. Look forward to working with them again.

Thanks to Steve and the crew for taking cre of us. Extra special thanks to Joe C and Ricky Bobby for bringing the new strooners. Peas and monkey knees.

After weeks of being without our Allen & Heath 16-channel sound board, we're happy to say we have the bad boy back in our possession and ready to rock for this weekend's shows! Now it's up to Squirt Jones to get it all put together and laid out.
